Reconciliation
Confessions are heard every Saturday from 3:00-4:15 PM, and anytime by appointment
The Sacrament of Penance, also known as Confession or the Sacrament of Reconciliation, is an encounter with Jesus in which we confess both serious (Mortal) sins and light (Venial) sins and receive absolution from the priest acting in the person of Christ. The Sacrament of Penance is not just for the forgiveness of sin; it also gives us special grace so that we may not give in to temptation. We are encouraged to receive the Sacrament of Penance frequently, at least four times a year: once in Advent (in preparation for Christmas), once in Lent (in preparation for Easter), once in the Summer, and once in the Fall, so that we can benefit from the graces we obtain through this sacrament - the forgiveness of sin and the strength to resist temptations to sin.
